Show series HELD FOR MICKflELFITTPATRlCK Solemn Requiem Mass Celebrated; Cele-brated; Impressive Music Is ' Feature of Obsequies. Solemn and impressive funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic cathedral cathe-dral Tuesday for Michael FItzpatrick, whose death occurred Friday afternoon. The services were attended by a large number of the friends of tho late Inspector, Inspec-tor, and the flqral offerings were beautiful beau-tiful and profuso in number. , The Gregorian solemn requiem mass was celebrated, the Rev. Father W. K. Ryan being the celebrant. The Rev. Father Fa-ther Tlmotlry Drcnnan was the deacon, and tho Rev. Father D. Slattcry the sub-deacon. sub-deacon. There were four altar boys and four acolytes. Father Ryan delivered ' the sermon. Father Ryan and Mr. Fltzpatrick were lifelong friends, and the eloquent priest paid a glowing tribute to the life and character of his friend. The music was sublimely beautiful and Impressive. The Cathedral Male quartette quar-tette sang three chants by Pulcstrina, composed in 1620. The quartette is composed com-posed of Gctthard Messenger. Ludwlg Isken, Max Von ZwoldorfC und Nicholas Schutter. "Nearer. My God, to Thee," was beautifully beau-tifully rendered by members of the choir, including Mrs, Corlnno Harris Hammer, Miss Alice Farrell, Mrs. Kathleen Fltz-patrlck Fltz-patrlck Atkins. Fred C. Graham and A. J. Bruneau. Music incident to tho mass itself was also rendered by these well-known well-known voices. Chopin's funeral march was played by tho organist, Miss Nora Glcason.
