Upon receipt of the wire at Cheyenne, Chey-enne, two oflicers entered the skating rink there and inquired for fleorgc Clifford. Clepper presented the check at the Ked Top bar. on First South street, and received the money. Within a few days tho government officials were placed on Clipper's trail and have followed fol-lowed him from place to place. Clepper is sain to have been an expert ex-pert roller skater, made good at Cheyenne Chey-enne under the itnnio of Clifford, and was making hay for himself when the oflicers gave away their little game, and thereby permitted him to escape. |
