Show WOODRUFF TO TAFT SENDS CONGRATULATIONS NEW YORK, Nov. 3. Stato Chairman Chair-man Woodruff at 10 o'clock tonight sont the following telegram to William H. Taft: "Your plurality in Now York state is more than 200.000, thus oxcoeding President Roosevelt's majoritj' of four ycars ago, as ho so earnestly expressed avdesire that it should. You have carried car-ried New York City by 5000 to 10,000, and Kings county by 15,000. Hughes 'a plurality will bo at least 50,000, His candidacy nided yours, as yours did him. Pleaso accept the hearty congratulations con-gratulations of the Republican organization organi-zation of flic state of Now York and of all connected with tho work of tho campaign, which they hnvo especially enjoyed with you as the party standard bearer in tho nation nud Governor Hughes in tho state." Mr. Woodruff said that he had been confident from the first, thnt Hughes would win, nnd thero never had boon any doubt that Taft would carry the stnto by an overwhelming majority. A number of prominent Republicans received re-ceived the returns at statu headquarters. |
