Show BOYS GET TOGETHER AT PHILLIPS CHURCH Handsome Silver Trophy Is Presented Pre-sented to Winner in Contest. The boys' clubs of the city, affiliated with the T. M. C A., gathered to the number of about a hundred and fifty last night at Phillips church. The occasion of tliolr gathering was of great Interest, as It marked the official note of the end of a year's work In gymnasium, classroom class-room and track. The local association has provided a magnificent silver trophy, to be given to the boys' club winning the highest percentage per-centage of marks ln athlotlcs and study. Mr. Adamson boro It last evening to Phillips church, whero It was presented to tho boys' club of that place, which won first placo with a percentage of 11. Tho First Precbytcrlan3 were second, with 25. A programme of music and speeches was enjoyed. The cup was presented by Mr. Settle and received for tho club by Art LewlB. Rov. P. A- Slmpkin, Secretary Secre-tary Holalngton and Superintendent Pago delivered brief addresses. At the close of the programme the Phillips boys served refreshments to the guests of the evening. even-ing. The club Is under the leadership of Secretary Holslngton of the T. M. C. A. The church was noisy with the club cries of the several Sunday-schools, and the work of the year Is entered by all of them with a vim and determination that insure a warm contest for the season of iinR-n. |
