Murphy, for fourtoou years preceptress of tho Salt Lako collogiato institute, in a sanitarium at Baltimore, Md. Miss Murphy was well known in this city and had a large circle of friends who will learn with tho deepest rocrot of her death. She was an active member mem-ber of the First Presbyterian church. I being a member of both'! ho Missionary I and Ladies' Aid societies of that church. It was last spring that Miss Murphy's health became so bad that a lnavc of ab8enco wns granted her aud she wont to visit friends in Pennsylvania In .Tuno she was taken ill, rot recovering until October. In letters received by friends in this city from her in 0',l.b.:r sho told of regaining he healt'i and how un.xions she was !o return to lior homo in this city. On advice of friends she was induced to tako tho ronunndor of tho year for rest aud had jono lo Laltiniore on a pleasure trip when she was taken sick and died. From information recoived it is thought Miss Murphy died either last Tuesday or Wednesday. The deceased was a member of tho Spirit of Liberty chapter of tho Daughters of tho American Amer-ican Revolution, and at ono timo was an officer in that sociotv. |
