In view of yesterday's episode between Speaker Cannon and Mr Wllllnmp, the minority leader, growing out of tho Speaker's arbitrary adjournment of the Jlouao, it was deemed wise from a party elandpolnt to havo as man Republicans as popidblc on hand. Ahout one hundred responded to tho notlilcatlon, although any prospect of a clash with the Democrala was dlssipntod when It wok obnorvod that only a few were p tholr soatn, Spanker Cannon and his floor manngore, Messrs. Payno and Dnksell, occupied their acciifltomed places until the Journal had been approved and a resolution adopted providing for adjournment ad-journment Immediately after the delivery deliv-ery of the eulogies on Mr. Smith, when they took their departure, as did many of tho members. With the exception of Mr. "Dearmond. none of tho minority leaders wns present. Thoao who paid tribute to Mr. Smith's memory wore Mosara. Thlstlewood, Ito-donberg, Ito-donberg, Chapman, Louden, and Graff (III.), Russell (Mo.), Chancy (Ind.), and Slcnncrnon (Minn.).
