I I To whom It may concern: j Notice is hereby given, that under and by authority of a majority vote of tho , quallllcd electors of Salt Lake City. Utah, j at an elect Ion duly held In said city July 23, 190S. favoring tho Incurring or a bonded Indebtedness in the sum of four hundred and seventy-llvo thousand C$ I7fi.000.00i dollars, for tho purpose of defraying tho expense of Increasing, Improving, Im-proving, enlarging, cxtondlng, perfecting and adding to the water supply and waterworks system of said city In tho way and manner set out In an ordinance submitting sub-mitting the question of Incurring said Indebtedness In-debtedness to said qualified electors, i passed by tho City Council Juno IS, 1008. ! and approved by tho Mayor Juno PJ. 190S; and also favoring the Incurring of a J bonded Indebtedness In the sum of one hundred and twenty-livo thousand (?125. 000.00) dollars, for the purpose of ; completing, increasing, extending and adding lo the sewer system of said city In the way ami manner set out In said ordinance. Suit Lake City proposes to Issue and sell bonds of the face value ot foiir hundred and seventy-llvo thousand (? I7o.000.00) dollars, to Increase. Improve, enlarge, extend, perfect and add to its water supply and waterworks system as aforesaid; and bonds of the face vaiuo of one hundred and twonly-tlvo thousand (25.000 00) dollars, to complete, Increase, extend and add to iLs sewer system ns aforesaid, said bonds to bear Interest nt life rate not to exceed four and one-half (IJ) per cent per annum, payable senil-aiinually, senil-aiinually, ami become due and payable aSjthe end of twenty yoars from flic date of, issue, with tho option reserved to tho city to pny or refund the same at any time after tho expiration of ten (10) years after tho date of Issue, ami shall bp of such denomination or denominations a the City Council may hereafter determine. deter-mine. The net rovenuo from said water system shall be set apart, and shall be a sinking fund for tho payment of said jvater bonds, and the interest thereon; and the City Council shall annually levy S sufficient tax to pay the Interest on said sewer bonds as It falls due, and also fto constitute a sinking fund for thu payment pay-ment of the principal thereof. That under and pursuant to a resolution of tho City Council of Salt Lako CIty4 passed August 0, PJOS, and approved by tho Mayor August 7. 100S, the undersigned under-signed Mayor and City Kecorder of snld city wero authorized and directed to advertise ad-vertise for bids for said bonds, In certain newspapers therein named. Now. therefore, In conformity with said resolution, and under the directions therein there-in contained, the undersigned Mayor and City Recorder of Salt Lako City hereby give notice that bids will be received for the purchase of said bonds until August 31, 100S. at 7-30 o'clock p. m at which time all bids must be in the hands ot tho City Recorder, and will then be oponed. All bonds to he dated October 1, I'JOS, ami to be purchased and paid for In the following manner: WATER BONDS. Two hundred thousand ($200,000.00) dollars dol-lars thereof on October 1, 190S: One hundred nnd fifty thousand (5150.-i (5150.-i 000.00) dollars thereof on January 1. 1300: ! and the remaining one hundred nnd twenty-five thousand (Sl'.Ti, 000.00) dollar. thereof on April I, 11)00. SEWER BONDS. One hundred and iwenty-tlve thousand (SllT.,000.00) dollars on October 1. 100S. Each and every bid for the purchase of said bonds shall be accompanied with n certllled check for one per "c-nt of the face value of bonds bid for, payable lo the order of the City Treasurer" of Salt Lake City, as a guaranty of good faith on the part of the bidder, and to reimburse re-imburse said city for Its loss and expense In this behalf In case the bidder shnll not perforin his bid after acceptance thereof by tho city. No bid will be con-slderpd con-slderpd lor less than the face value of said bonds.
