Governor WilJson today granted pardons par-dons to Walter Duncau, who was convicted con-victed of shooting aud killing Newton Hazelctt at Jacksonville, Shelby county, coun-ty, in June, and Riley Ilarrold, who was indicted as an accessory to tho murder. Both men are prominent farmers. Tho governor in issuing tho pardons said: "Xo doubt both Duncan and Ilarrold arc true and bravo men and did their duty. T do not know any more imperative impera-tive call upon me to exerciso tho power given me to pardon than presented in this case, and in recognition of tho useful, use-ful, honorable and brave part they had in upholding indhidual liberty, repressing repress-ing violence and crime, I grant them full and free pardons." |
