Show DEFENSE CLOSES CASE IN TRIAL OF HAJXS FLUSHING,. X. Y.. Jan. 8. Tho defense de-fense in tlio trial of Thornton J. Trains, as a principal with his brother, Captain Peter C. Ilains, for tho killing of William Wil-liam E.' Annis, came to a close this afternoon, aud before court adjourned Justico Crane told the jurors that, they would bo ablo to conclude their labors about tho middle of next week. The defense placed two alienists on the stand tonight. Dr. L. S. Mauson and Dr. L. Picrco Clark told the .jury that Captain Peter C. Ilains suf-icred suf-icred from impnlsivo insanity when ho 6hot Anuis. Dr. Manson was recalled to qualify a statement mado earlier in tho day, that Captaiu Ilains could not recognize his enemy, and would not know his enemy's uame. He qualified this by saying 'that when ho heard the namo ''Anuis," ho was seized with impnlsivo im-pnlsivo insanity, which reached its climax when the shot was fired. |
