Under tho provisions of the ordinance the Mayor cannot appoint more than three members from any one political organization organi-zation and as a result ho will appoint three Amorlcuns, ono Republican and one Democrat. Former Mayor Richard P. Morris will be tondc-red the Democratic appointment and A Fred W'ey will bo olYcrcd one of the American appointments. Former Councilman Hobday would be tendered Iho second American appointment were It not for the reason that lie Is dlsriunllrted. flis disqualification is a result of the fact that the city ordinances provide that no Councilman Coun-cilman shall hold any office within a given period which he assisted In creating creat-ing while a member of the Council. Mayor Rransford Is now considering the personnel of the board nnd will reach a conclusion within the ne.xt few days. Tho commissioners will not receive any salary or fees, the office being an honorary proposition. However, they will have abundant responsibility. It Is 'iolr duty to regulate the planting plant-ing of trees, shrubs and plants in the paries, streets and other public grounds, and to assume entire Jurisdiction Jurisdic-tion over all parks and park districts. Tho commissioners also have three Juicy plums at their disposal. They are required re-quired to appoint a landscape gardener at a salary not to exceed $125 a month, a parkkeeper at a salary not to e.Nceed 583.3.T a month, and an assistant florist at a salary not to exceed $15 a. month. |
