MOSS The Christmas holidays afforded af-forded time for many parties and family gatherings in the community, one of the most outstanding of which was the celebration of the 48th wedding wed-ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Moss. Members of the family partook of a dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cloward Peacock after which a gift was presented to the parents and other members of the family exchanged Christmas Christ-mas gifts. Christmas greetings were sounded early in the morning at the Bishop George Ellis home. Son, George arrived in the wee hours of the morning to spend a leave of absence with folks at home. He will soon return to report for duty at El Centre, Calif. La Vcr Lords has been released re-leased from his services with Uncle Sam. He is making his! home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Lords and has found employemcnt at Cud-ahys. Cud-ahys. It is taking longer than was expected for the healing of James Rawles knee, following The Mark Hatch home was gladdened for the holidays with the return of their mother moth-er Doreen. They are enjoying their new home and Doreen is slowly improving each day. Gifts were exchanged and a buffet luncheon was enjoyed bv members of the David S. Moss family on Monday, Dec. 30 at the family home. Claudia Moss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Claude Moss didn't enjoy all of her Christmas Christ-mas vacation. She is improving the operation, lie is still convalescing con-valescing at the Veterans hospital hos-pital in Salt Lake. Mrs. Blanche J. Ellis entertained enter-tained members of the South Davis stake theology instructors instruc-tors group .it her home on Saturday, Sat-urday, Dec. 15. After a luncheon, lunch-eon, the lesson material was discussed. Once again the Walter H. Moss home was the scene of festivities, when the entire family met for gift exchange, program and good things to cat. The family have missed being together on Christmas eve while their parents have been away in the mission field. Mr. and Mrs. Grant (Betty Ilaacke) Winegar and family of Payson have been holiday guests at the Stanley Haacke in health but still receiving medical assistance. Seven friends of Mrs. Lama Bradford enjoyed dinner followed fol-lowed by games at the Bradford Brad-ford home on Cleverly Drive Monday evening, Dec. 30. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wine-gar Wine-gar and part of their family spent the Christmas holidays with Arthur and Carolyn Car- The lovely home of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gerber of East ' Bountiful was beautifully dec- . orated for the reception which followed the marriage of Mary Louise Hogan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hogan and Lee Lawrence Bean on Friday, Fri-day, Dec. 20, 1357. The ceremony cere-mony was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. The couple will make their home in Salt Lake where they will continue with their education at the University of Utah. The groom is working toward his masters degree in sociology, the bride for her degree in English and speech. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hatch have enjoyed a viuit with their their children Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Mc Bride and son, Michael of Manhattan Beach, Calif. On Christmas day, all of the Hatch family were together for dinner, din-ner, at which time a letter from granddaughter, Judy was read. Judy is making her home with her parents in Georgia and is employed at the bank of Atlanta, Ga. She sent greeting to all of her friends in Utah. Special guest for the dinner was Julia Adam son, former resident of South Bountiful and school time chum of daguhter Elaine. don in Winnemucca, Nevada Word from their daughter Delorcs informs them that teaching conditions in Holland are not as enticing as they home. On Thursday evening they attended a party of former form-er school mates at the Jay and Betty Willey home in Layton. The Christmas eve party of the William Green family was somewhat disrupted by the arrival of twins for the Thomas McCallums of Layton. However, How-ever, the remainder of the family managed to gc collected collect-ed for the usual festivities and had a good time together. Grandpar- ents Bill and Mary took little ; sister Christine home to see ! the new babies on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hart and the two boys had dinner I at the Edward Beck home in , Bountiful on Friday, Dec. 27. ' The Becks entertained mem- ibers of the Beck family which included the Harold Pope family. Mr. Pope will take up his duties as Mayor of Bountiful Boun-tiful in January. David Hiatt was permitted to attend the Christmas services serv-ices in the chapel last Sunday. He is improving slowly but will not be released from the doctors supervision lof some time. Members of the Bohamus Home Makers club enjoyed a Christmas dinner and attend-k attend-k ing festivities at the home of Gay Frazier in North Salt on Thursday evening. Elda Lund, Barbara O. Healon and Ray-one Ray-one Adams were in charge of the dinner. Secret pals of the year were revealed and gifts were exchanged. This is a Home Betterment Group sponsored spon-sored by Davis County Home Service division. The Samuel Mills family held their customary Christmas Christ-mas family get together at the Clarence Mills home on Dec. 20th. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Mills and family and Mrs. Ar-delle Ar-delle H. Mills attended. The De Vor Moss home was the scene of Christmas gaiety when all of the Eldon Moss family nift for dinner and fun together. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Thurgood of Syrcause, Utah were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Moss on Monday, Dee. 30th.
