Show NO POSTPONEMENT Report That Boise Meeting Is to Be Delayed Unfounded. BOISE, Ida., Aug. 23. A telegram was received today at the headquarters of the National Irrigation congress from E. J. Watson. State commissioner of South Carolina to the congress, stating stat-ing that the report had been published in a newspaper there that it had been determined to postpone tho meeting of the congress to a future dato, This report is absolutely unfounded, ana Chairman Gwinn or tho executive committee com-mittee at once sent a dispatch announcing announc-ing positively that the congress would open on the morning of September 3, as planned. A considerable delegation of 8outh Carolinans is expected, to be sent to the congress in an effort to induce in-duce the irrigationists to take up tho reclamation of Southern lands by drainage. A letter was received today announcing announc-ing that Senator M. E. Clapp of Minnesota Minne-sota would bo among Uiobc present at tho congress. |
