Show CELEBRATION IS HELD IN PE11F VALLEY Iluntsvillc Scene of Pioneer Day Festivities for Weber County. OGDEN. July 24. Pioneer day was appropriately ap-propriately celebrated at Hunlsvllle In Ogden valley todny The three towns of Hunlsvllle, Liberty and Eden jolnod In tho celebration, both in their attendanco at the exercises and In tho floats they sent down to form part of thn grand parade, which wan one of the best efforts ef-forts ever put out by a comparatively small community In Utah. To add to the success of the occasion any number of people went up from Ogden Og-den and the parade was augmented In Its attractive features by the presence of many automobiles from this city. The parade Itself was a most Imposing affair. It started at D a. m. and wns led by Fred Schade. as marshal of tho day. From 10 a. m. until 11:30 a. m. there was a programme of patriotic addresses and music In tho Iluntsvillc meetinghouse. meeting-house. At 4 p. m. there was a ba6cball gamo and at 7 p. m the concert at which tho Tout sisters woro the principal artlst3 was given. At 9 p. m. a great display of fireworks waB set off on the hill, and following fol-lowing that there was a dance. It was probably the greatest celebration celebra-tion and the most elaborate given in Utah In recent years in a community remote from railroad connections. |
