Show RIOTS IN ODESSA. Jews Are Slain; Exodus of Terror-stricken Terror-stricken Ones. ODESSA. July 24. Serious disturbances disturb-ances took place in the remote quarters quar-ters of Odessa late last night. The Jews sought refuge in the center of tho cit Manj- of them left Odessa altogether. There has been no actual disturbanco here today, but drunken Cossacks endeavored en-deavored to instigate an anti-Jewish maEsacre in the industrial suburb of Maldovanka, but were scattered by infantry, in-fantry, who instantly cordoned the .Tewisli quarter .and threatened to annihilate anni-hilate tho Cossacks. The latter were withdrawn to their baracks by order of their commandants. Under sudden terror 500 Jewish fam-ilios fam-ilios sought refuge in other parts of tho city. Two Jews wore killed and eight were wounded in Stepovai street here.
