Show 'STOCK GRAZING SI Regulations Regarding Permits Are Made Public by the Supervisor. RESERVATION DIVIDED INTO TWENTY DISTRICTS 25,000 Head of Cattle and Horses and 450,000 Sheep Will De Admitted. Special to The Tribune. KAMAS, Utah. Feb. 8 Regarding grazing on the Uintah forest reserve the forest supervisor makes public the following regulations: o Provisions have been "made for the grazing of 25,000 head of horses and cattle, and -150,000 head of sheep in the Uintah forest reserve during the reason rea-son of 100G. Each two lambs six months old will be counted and paid for as equal to one grovn sheep. Divided Into Districts. j The reserve Is divided Into twenty districts. The old reserve and the Wyoming Wy-oming addition are covered by districts dis-tricts 1 to 11 Inclusive, old districts 7 to S have been consolidated and will now be known as divisions 1 and 2 of the present district No. S. The remainder re-mainder of the reserve Is covered by districts 12 to 20 Inclusive. The map also shows the areas sot aside as cattle cat-tle ranges, from which sheep are excluded, ex-cluded, the sheep driveways established estab-lished and the areas for lambing. There will be 25,000 head of cattle amd horses, distributed among districts 1 to 11 inclusive, and 10,000 head among districts 12 to 20 inclusive. The grazing season for cattle and horses will be from May 1 to October 20, the charges for which willbe 25 cents per head, provided that class "A" stock may be allowed In the reserve the full grazing year, May 1, 190G, to April 30, 1907, the chargo for which will be 40 cents per head. Slock entitled en-titled to the year-long season, and for which yearly permits are Issued, may remain in the reserve until May 1, free of charge. The one-half rate limit number is 0 head, and applies to cnttlc only. This means that a person who Is given a permit covering 30 head of cattle, or less, and a number of horses, will pay one-half rate on the 30 cattle covered by the permit and a full rate on Ihe horses, and a person whose permit covers more than 30 cattle will pay one-half rate on 30 cattle and a full rate on all stock (cattle and horses) over that number. Summer Grazing Season. The regular summer grazing season for sheep will be from July 1 to October Octo-ber 10, the charge for which will bo 6 cents per head, provided that 30,000 breeding ewes may enter districts 12 and IS on May 10 for lambing purposes, the extra charge for which will be 2 cents per head. The percentage percen-tage basis of Increase to be used In approving applications In advance of the birth of lambs Is SO per cent to be computed. All applications for grazing permits must be presented to D. S. Marshall, forest supervisor, Kamas, Utah, on or before March 10, 190G. |
