Clegg met with a painful accident yesterday afternoon, caused by an explosion of black powder, and his sight will probably prob-ably be permanently Injured as a result. re-sult. Clegg was running a Jigging plant on the creek below town and the ground was frozen so hard that It was necessary to drill and blast. After ho had drilled the hole In the ground he placed a charge of black powder In It. He then lighted the fuse, and In his hurry put the lighted end into the hole. The powder Instantly exploded, badly burning him about the face and eyes. The physicians were able to relieve re-lieve his suffering, but cannot tell as yet whether or not he will lose his slghL Alberta Gallllan will play "Cousin Kato" at the Dewey theater tomorrow night. The advance sale Is large. The newly organized dancing club held Its Hrst social at Sutton's hall last night. Many similar events arc expected ex-pected before the end of the season. The Scoro club Is preparing to give a grand ball in Maplo hall on the night of February 14. |
