A vote of thanks was extended to Ilomenway and to the W. A. The first j Avas presented by State Chemist Herman Harma, and. his theme was "Food and Drug Adulterations." Tho first part of tho paper was devoted to pointing out tho various means by which both foods and drugs are adulterated, and the scc-ond scc-ond to an expose of a number of patent ' medicines, which Mr. Harms chnracter- teed as fakes and frauds "Tho Fvetnil Druggist." John Culloy 'of Ogden read the second paper of the day on "The Retail Drug-gist Drug-gist as a Manufacturing Pharmacist," and C. IT. McCoy of this cltv gave the ,last paper. In his paper Mr. McCoy sought to point out the necessity of rals-lng rals-lng tho standard of tho drug business by making of it a profession. In order to do this. Mr. McCoy said the standurd of cd-ucation cd-ucation of the men and boys omplovcd In drug stores would have to bo raised, and predicted that the time is not far .distant when a boy will have to have had at least a high school education beforo being taken a:i a druggist's apprentice. |
