This HI was outvoted by the men who proposed BBJ to appoint Dr. E. B. Wilcox assistant BB city physician. E. H. Davis felt ag- SH grieved over this. HBJ "Why refuse the men who do the IH work this allowance," he asked. "You BBJ allow it to the doctor, who gives only BH one hour of his time to the city every BH day. Then why should not the men who' BBJ put In their whole day for the city BBJ have the same allowance?" BB , Davis Got Even. BB ' Then afterwards the report of the BM Sanitary committee came up. They say that thoy propose to maintain a hospital to accommodate from 75 to 100 patients. They will have a staff of from 10 to 20 doctors. Tb,e Idea is to make ne arrangement ar-rangement with the city whereby caus-ualty caus-ualty cases can be treated in their hospital hos-pital when it Id built and have the cost paid by the city. Too Much Water Wow. Land owners on the olher side of the Jordan have protested against the flooding of their lands. They say that it is caused by the dam erected by the city across the river. Jt floods the property between the. Jordan and the Redwood road. The Short Line has been ordered to remove the obstruction across Goodwin street. Property owners in North Salt Lake had protested against the closing of the street by the railroad. Eight new arc lights were ordered put In last night- They are in different parts of tho city. i |
