Show THREW ACID IN FACE. Chicago Woman. Attacks Husband With Fluid That Burned. " CHICAGO, Nov. 16. With a bottle of carbolic acid with which she had Intended In-tended to end her life, Mm William Collier, Col-lier, No. 1715 Sixty-third street, attacked her husband and dashed the liquid1 In his face. She met him while returning from the drug store. The husband. Dr. William Collier, was severely burned by the acid and ran Into his office to apply an antidote. The doctor caused the arrest of his wife, with whom he has not lived for over four months, and she was locked up, charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Mrs. Collier In telling her story to the police declared that she had been married mar-ried for seventeen years, and after ten years of wedded life had1 done washing and sewing in order that her husband might attend a medical f?chool. After receiving his diploma, she declares, he discarded her nnd refused' to see her. Becoming despondent after being In the hospital for over two months, she decided to end her life, and bought carbolic car-bolic acid to do so, but meotlng her husband, hus-band, became angry and threw it In his face. |
