Show LIVE WIRE CAUSED DEATH. Estate of Martin Holmberg Seeks to Recover S25,000 Damages. Judge Stewart and a Jury were engaged en-gaged yesterday in hearing the case of John Kolmberg, Jr., administrator of the estate of Martin Holmberg vs. J. G. Potts and the Minneapolis Machinery and Steel company. This is a suit brought to recover $25,000 damages for the death of the deceased, Martin Holmberg. Holm-berg. the father of John Holmberg. The deceased was employed by the defendant company on the construction of a steel and iron building for the Portland Port-land Cement company of this city. J. G. Potts wus the foreman of the defendant de-fendant company, and) ordered Holmberg Holm-berg to go aloft and do some work. While he was doing so and using all necessary care and precaution, so the plaintiff claims, he came in contact with a live wire and was killed. The defendants allege that it was not on acount of any carelessness on their part that Holmberg came in contact with the live wire, and maintain that the Portland Cement company, If any-bodj', any-bodj', Is responsible, as it was their building that the deceased was working on. |
