Show ACTIVE DAY ON CHANGE. Market Steady and Firm With Little Change in Prices. The week opened Yn the mining exchange ex-change with a decided Increase of busl-r busl-r l. The trading was active and heavy, hut prices, with one or two exceptions, did not show any dOCided rise. The gen-oral gen-oral trend of the market, however, wa strong, and mere were few falls In price recorded. N W York, as has been the case for BOme time, held the center of tho stage, and showed a decided Increase both In the amount of trading done and In the prices paid. After opening at 17c. the stock moved to 61c, and considerable trading was done over 50c In the afternoon, however, it fell off again to 4Sc If ay Day opened strong In the morning, but the amount of stock thrown on the market forced the price down to 10c. Uncle Samo Con. did not seem to suffer from the passing of tho dividend and was quoted at the regular price of L'lV- Yankee Con recovered from the slump which It took several das ago, and again moved up to 38c, while Sacramento was steady and stationary nt MHC Con.
