SEEK IMMI6RATI0N. Canadian Government May Be Called on to Explain. WASHINGTON, July 1C It Is probable prob-able that the attention of tho British Government will be directed to a movement, move-ment, conducted officially by thc Canadian Cana-dian Government, to induce Immigration Immigra-tion from the United States to the Northwest Territory. There can be no objection to such efforts ef-forts on the part of the private Immigration Immi-gration agencies, but when, as In this case, tho Government itself seeks to attract citizens of other countries, the matter Is one which calls for official remonatration. It appears that the Dominion Department De-partment of the Interior, through one of Its Assistant Secretaries, has been sending broadcast throughout the Northwest stations circular letters, principally addressed to clergymen, professional men and persons of influence, influ-ence, describing in glowing terms tho splendid resources of tho Canadian Northwest, and Inviting Immigrants by the offer of 1C0 acres of land for each, free schools and sound laws. Attention At-tention is especially Invited to the excellent ex-cellent church facilities.
