CALIENTI-:, Nov., July 1C George Bostwiek came In from tho front today and brought with him sonio samples of free gold ore, taken from the Hlghliio claim, which ho located la:it March and on which he and Frank Burns, his partner, part-ner, have run a ISO-foot tunnel on a ledgo two feet threo Inches wide, assaying In free gold $12 to tho ton. They also located a ledge In which bismuth Is the principal deposit and which, they say. is twenty-three twenty-three foot wide, They are going lo Denver. Den-ver. Colo., to consult with Davis & Flick, brokers, who grubstaked them this Hurim- and who arc associated with thcin In their find. - Mark Langlpy and Pete Chllvors. who have been prospecting north of Moapa. They havo had assavs from their pold-coppcr ktouj). the Red Light group, going $17 gold and 3S per cont copper per ton. They havo bonded both these groups to Salt Lake people, whoso names they refuso to plvo. and are en route to that city to consult with them as to the future of the mine. Dick Baker and Mike Donahue, in company com-pany with F. R. .Incise of Cripple Creek, passed through camp todav. on route to the Upper Colorado river, where the (wo former parties located four free-gold claims In January, lids year, and sunk a sixty-foot shaft, ran a 130-foot tunnel, and at tho breast of the tunnel sunk a seventy-foot winze on a three-foot ledge of freo gold. They say that on the footwall there Is a three-inch strip of quarts fairly allvo with free gold, going over 431 lo the ton. while the remainder of tho ledge averages ?62 per ton throughout and Is free milling. They aro but seventeen miles from Loh Vegas ranch and have a good ore road all the way, with but two miles of sand, which Is passablo at all times of tho year. They expect, however, to erect a small mill for tho treatment of their ore, having ground out- nearly 5110O with an old Mexican arasta on tho side of the river.
