Show MAYOR VETOES ACT TO ALLOW CAR TICKETS Maj-or Morris yesterday vetoed the-report the-report o-f the Committee on Markets, as adopted by the Council, providing that the city sealer of weights and measures mea-sures be allowed 100 car tickets a month, and at certain odd times he be allowed a horse and wagon to perform properly his duties. As his reason for disapproving the report the Mayor says: "I believe that the excellent work this officer has done in the past and is endeavoring to carry on in the future, fu-ture, deserves that .he should be furnished fur-nished with a horse and wagon that he can more fully look after the Interests of the people who have so shamefully been robbed by dishonest peddlers and merchants In this city in the past. "With the report amended that the said officer be furnished with a horse and wagon at a cost not ti exceed $200, I shall gladly approve it." |
