Show SERIOUS CHARGE MADE AGAINST JOHN B. NOEJUS The trotibles of John R. Norrls, vrho went Into bankruptcy a fow days ago as the proprietor of Ford's hotel, were increased yesterday by Mrs, Minnie Watekle, -who i?worc out a complaint charging him with the embezzlement of ?ll of her money. Mrs. Watsklc was a guest at the hotel and claims that she doposlted the money with the proprietor for safe keeping. When the house was closed she demanded the return re-turn of the cash but was unable to got It. Mr. Norrls's side of the story Is that lie deposited her money with his own bank accdunt and drew a part of it out. When she asked for its return he was unable to pay her, but tendered her a-note, a-note, indorsed by responsible personal, for the full amount. She accepted the note and refused to return It to him when he offered to get it cashed for her. The defendant entered a plea of not guilty before Judge Dlchl yesterday morning and was released on his own recognizance. |
