Show NEWS OF THE GUARD H The ball given Hcompany In the armor Friday night was a complete success from every polht of view The hall was prettily decoraled for the occasion oc-casion with flags buntlpg equipment and unique military desjgns and a pleasant evening wasjpasscd by all who attended It 1 o e A The meeting of those Interested In the organization of a cavalry troop trill beheld be-held Friday evening at the armory nnd a good attendance is looked for The meeting was postponed last week on account of the bull given by II company com-pany However the organizers of the newS troop have secured the use of the building for next Friday evening and the meeting will be called without fall ire at S oclock If the organization Is effected ncwunlfonns and complete equipment will be Issued at once and quarters will be assigned the troop at the armory Those interested in the work of recruiting men for the ranks report the outlook ns being very favorable favor-able All those Interested In the new troop are urged to be present at the meeting of Friday evening The name of The Governors Guards has been suggested for the < < now organization The battery was Inspected Monday evening by Col Lund Fiftysix men were in line attired in fulldress uniforms uni-forms and presenting as neat and compact com-pact an appearance as one would expect ex-pect to find at an Inspection of regular army artillery IE company did not drill Monday night on account of the inspection of battery A The battery will not drill pmorrow night because of the annual Inspection of IE company at the drill haJl C company had fifteen men at drill the past week B company had nine men In line the signal corps had 60 percent per-cent of Its membership on hand and the hospital corps had 75 per cent of Its members In attendance j An order was issued from headquarters headquar-ters Thursday directing all company commanders to at once forward accurate ac-curate musler rolls of their commands The order also chronicled the acceptance accept-ance of the resignations of CapL Zinck of B company and Capt Walton of D company Woodruff i |
