Show IT IS INDEFENSIBLE I There has been a good dpal of Indefinite Indefi-nite talk of and relative to the troubles between the building contractors con-tractors In this city and their workmen but tho bringing forward of anything specific that < the public could take hold on has been meager George Ourley however In ypsterday mornings Tribune made a statement that no one can fall to see is one of abuse He Is a contractor and this Is what he says Lost Tuesday the stonecutters employed em-ployed at my works quit work without even volunteering to tell ine why they quit said Mr Curley yesterday and when I asked the president of the Stonecutters union why they had been called out he said he didnt know Now I dont object tp unions and I dont object to worklngmcn getting all they can for their work but I feel in this case that I am the victim of a con piracy whIch doesnt speak well fori rganied labor It doesnt look good to me when men who hove no priev nce of their own can be called out by omeono In whom they or their employers employ-ers have no interest the men thereby losing their wages and the employers being Incalculably damaged by losing heir contracts and stopping the works In which their all Is Invested Mr Curley goes on to say that he has Invested 0000 in his stone cutting plant and is a large stockholdeh In tho Salt Lake Pressed Brick company which hasnot raised but lowered the price of brick Now suppose him to have been entirely irely frank and candid telling the II whole story as to the walkout of his employees Js there any one who ylll oran or-an fall to see that Mr Curley has avery a-very real and substantial grievance J f his men quit him Is he not entitled tQ know why and to have a chance to comply or to refuse to comply with some definite demand |
