Show DOCTOR RAISES RUMPUS I t Reads a Queer Paper Before Tuberculosis Tuber-culosis Congress Now York May 1C During t hls afternoons after-noons session of the tuberculosis congress con-gress Dr M R Levcrson of Brooklyn read a paper In which ho denied that thero were any infectious diseases smallpox small-pox was not contagious and certainly not tuberculosis Ho argued that the real cause of the spread of Ilisease was not Infection but fear and scored the doctors This paper created a disturbance and Dr C K Cole of Helena Mont moved that the paper be not printed In the minutes min-utes of the congress This was carried Resolutions wcro adopted which say that the duty of the Government Js lo adopt such measures as may limit the spread of tuberculosis that measures should tend toward tile education of tho people through schools and that the dis cmlnatlon of literature by the various health boards by affording efficient and proper care of poor parents with tile establishment es-tablishment of free sanitariums for such treatment a regular sanitary Inspection of all public institutions especially those of charity and correction and adequate Inspection of all meats milk and other foodstuffs whlph may Convey materials tending to spread time disease and control of tuberculosis patients With this the sessions of the congress were brought to a close It was announced an-nounced that a free annex for consumptives consump-tives would bo opened next Thanksgiving day nt the Montefioro homo for Incurables Incura-bles this city |
