| Show NOTED WOMAN HERE I Visit of Mrs May Wright I V SewaSI I WILL REMAIN SEVERAL DAYS President of tho International Council Coun-cil of Women Arrived in the City Yesterday and Will B3 Shown Much Attention During Her Stay Entertained Enter-tained at the Home of George M Cannon Last Evening She Will Speak in the Tabernacle on Sunday Is a Very Talented Woman Mrs May Wright Sewall president of the International Council of Women arrived In the city yesterday afternoon from San Francisco where she has been for several weeks visiting with and lecturing to the various womens clubs and organizations She was met at the Rio Grande Western depot by l Mrs E B Wells and Mrs A W McCune and was driven to the home of the latter lady whose guest she will be for several sev-eral days Mrs Sewall has hcann prominent factor in the advancement o of women generally and has been n member of the council of which she was elected president since Its organization organi-zation in Washington In HiSS She Is an ardent woman suffragist She was mad president of the council in 1S09 and her term will expire In 1903 She Is an accomplished ac-complished linguist and a very exten nlve traveler and has on several occa ane sions been the guest of the nobility of Europe Last evening Mrs Sewall was entertained V enter-tained by Miss Annie M Cannon daughter of President Angus M Cannon Can-non at the home of her brother George M Cannon in Forest Dale The lawn r Cannon was tastefully decorated and a pleasing pleas-ing time was had by all The entertainers enter-tainers were Mrs Maggie Hull Miss Luella Ferron Miss Ida Daynes Groo and Mss Lillian Young In vocal solos and Mrs May B Tnlmagc who gave a recitation At the request of rs Sewall the Mormon hymn Come Come Ye Saints was sung by a portion por-tion of the assemblage This morning about ninety ladies will accompany Mrs Sewnll to the organ recital in tho Thbernacle and the aflernon will be spent at Saltalr the train leaving at 215 p m V Mrs Sewall will speak at the Tabernacle Taber-nacle on Sunday and on Monday will be tendered n reception by Mrs F S Richards Rich-ards and Mrs Prlscila Paul Jennings at the home of the former from 3 to 5 1 m I Monday evening in the Assembly I hal Mrs Sewall will lecture on The Current Tendencies in Education On Tuesday Mrs Sewall will go to Provo whore she will be the guest of Mrs Susa Young Gates and she may lecture there This was the programme outlined yesterday Mrs Sewall has been promising to visit us for many years past said Mrs E B Wells yesterday We shall make her visit one she will remember I as she stands for all that Is in the interest In-terest of the advancement of her sex I She Is earnest clever sincere and consistent ceer sistent I a = = k I iir iJ A I I b1 r a i t s I I 1 N 1 V V I V I I 4 4 V I V Mrs Slay Wright Sewall I |
