Show l TO i REORGANIZE CHAMBER I I c I BUSINESS HEN MEET AND DISCUSS DIS-CUSS THE MATTER r1 I But Few Present Jut Outlook for the I Reorganization is Pavorable Articles I Arti-cles to be Prepared I I A number of local business men met last evening In the Kenyon hotel parlors I par-lors to organize a Chamber of Commerce Com-merce There were present Samuel I Hill Councilman Davis W N Williams Wil-liams A R Dcrge George McCarroll C R Kern James G McDonald J W Houston Alexander JLE Christen n sen Fred A SliereJ3 Wj SenlorfGT Ht Ur a Asper representing the Rio Grande Western passenger department and W W Bryan lately of Colorado the promoter of the scheme I Mr Bryan called Mr Houston to the chair and Mr Slade to the secretary r ship and the latter read the call signed by HC business men 11 Hill was called upon for a few remarks but t1 staled lhat he failed to see a sufficient number of representative business men present to warrant promise of success 0 although a bureau of Information was 1 much needed In this city Mr lull then withdrew j Councilman Davis look about the same view as r Hill unlll he was Informed I In-formed by Mr Senior that the secro tary had fifty postal cards from local r business men nnd firms expressing I I their sympathy with the movement Ii and agreeing to subscribe to what was done at the evenings meeting 3 Mr Bryan claimed that by the first flEi of the month there would bo 225 subscribers sub-scribers and It was finally decided to organize with a view to Incorporating 11 So Messrs Houston und Bryan were oleitcd temporary president and secretary 4 secre-tary respectively and these with Messrs Williams McDonald and Davis were selocted to prepare articles of Incorporation I In-corporation and provide for a permanent perma-nent organization An adjournment was then taken until unti next Monday j night at the same place when the comrnlllce will report |
