Show SURVEYS START MONDAY Terminal Line to Salt Lake Seems Sure ThingS Thing-S will be started In earnest upon the route of the proposed new Salt Lake railway out of Los Angeles on September 1st Some preliminary work has already been started but next Monday Engineer Hawgood will start out two separate working crews The people of Salt Lake City will be asked to donate to the new line terminals termi-nals at their end They will also be expected ex-pected to contribute about 1000000 In 100000 bonds Los Angeles will be expected to contribute a similar amount Thomas E Gibbon will leave for Salt Lake City In a short time I I can be officially stated that Senator Sena-tor W A Clark haS obtained r controlling con-trolling Interest In the Terminal property prop-erty and not merely a half Interest as has been repeatedly stated Trains over the new line will It Is expected be running between Los Angeles An-geles and Salt Lake City before the end of the year 1902 and in this connection con-nection it can be stated that not only will the new road have a steamship line out of San Pedro to the Orient by that time but a line to the west coast of Soul American ports will also be run out of San Pedro and another line will bo operated along the California coast at least as far north as San Francisco which will give the new road cgnnec tlon into the last named city Los Angeles An-geles Express f |
