Show The alue of Sincerity. Though a man must be sincere in order or-der to be great, he need not be great in order to be sincere. Whatever may be the size of our brain, the strength of oui powers, the talents of any kind with which we are gifted, sincerity of heart, or of belief, or of life, is possible to us all. It is of itself a kind of greatness which, in spite of many other drawbacks, draw-backs, will make itself felt. The honest, hon-est, upright man, who lives openly, fearlessly fear-lessly and truly, professing only what he feels, upholding oniy what he believes in, pretending nothing, disguising nothing, noth-ing, deceiving no one, claims unconsciously uncon-sciously a reepect and honor that we cannot can-not give to any degree of power or ability abil-ity wielded with duplicity or cunning. If we could correctly divide the world into the sincere and the insincere, we should have a much truer estimate ol real worth than we generally obtain. New York Ledger. - |
