Show Till! I.1KKRAI.S AND THE iSCHOOI-Si. Wherever the Liberals have obtained control of the schools they have immediately im-mediately placed them ou a good basis. They have in every case demonstrated their ability to have the schools conducted con-ducted iu a mauuer satisfactory to everybody. The coming election is for the purpose of electing a board of education edu-cation that shall have charge of the schools. This board will immediately establish a uniform system of graded schools, which will be a great improve- merit over tho present loose and diverse methods employed in managing the schools. The Liberals will make a strong effort to elect the majority of the board of education, and will very likely succeed. If they do, the people of this city, without regard to politics or religion, can rest assured that good schools will be tho result. This is a generally conceded fact. It is admitted by a large number of the progressive members of the People's party, and many of them, it is believed, will support sup-port tho Liberal school ticket, providod the right kind of men arq nominated. It is hoped that no mistakes will be made in the nominations. |
