Show Leo Hawkin's Home Almost Destroyed By Fire Today The Leo Ilawkin'a home, a frame building, in Bountiful was almost i destroyed by fire today. I Mr. Hawkins had some fire insurance in-surance but it could not be learned at the fire whether it was still in force, as he is a carpenter by trade but had been out of work. Both Mr. and Mrs.' Hawkins are deaf mutes. The ceiling and roof had dropped on the floor before the fire department depart-ment got to pouring water on the blaze. There was a good supply of water and good force so the fire 1 was soon put out. While the firemen fire-men were connecting up the big hose, Leo nolbrook accomplished considerable fighting the fire with a garden hose. Mrs. Hawkins and a son were at home but Mr. Hawkins was way up on the bench making repairs re-pairs on the roof of the Eggett home which was damaged or burned burn-ed some monthfago. He could decern de-cern that it was his home and came down. Neighbors and friend3 saved practically all the household effects There was quite a stiff breeze which fanned the flames furiously. I |
