Show JENNY LINDS' BABY. Jenny Lind, the Swedish nighten gale, recently wrote iho following letter to a friend about her latest baby: "I want to speak to you ol my baby. Well, I must tull you that God has given my dear husband and myself an adorable little girl, born on the 31st of March last. She ib the perfect image of health and happi n;ss. She laughs aEd crows in a way to delight all sympathetic hearts. We have given her a little Katharine among her other names, but we call her Jenny, I need not Hay in honor ol whom. Our boy Walter will be four years old the 9ch ot August next. He is an intelligent child very intelli gent, very religious, aud when he has been naughty, it is touching to see the way ho prays God to make him good again poor little chicken. He adores me, obeys me ad I understand under-stand the child completely, for he ie exactly like myself in nature, very impressionable, active, g:y, high-tempered, high-tempered, atPctiomue, shy, good-natured, good-natured, quick to learn, remembering remember-ing all that ho learn, preferring lu the finest toys a liornole old doll, be cause it is one with which he has has lengeyt pUyed, caring nothing about drees, but preferring to he loved rather than udmired. Is be musical? Not the least in the world. That is my greU despair. But he is religious, and 1 think he will be a Christian. As to the baby I caunot say as much. The little creature eats, drinks, laughs, mumbles over her shoes, aud I have nuthing to say against ber character. My husbaud is now in England looking out for a residence, for we intend, on account of the children, to settle iu that country. "Yours affectionately, Jennv Llnd." |
