Show A BUCCtsFDL public test of the Keely motor was given at Philadelphia last week. The valves were all opened to show the machine was clear, air waa introduced, the lever was lifted, the first move ahowing 1.750 pounde pressure on the gauge to the square inch, and though the chamber for condensing was open, the current did not blow out a match held over it. With pounds air pressure the gauge indicated 5.200 pounds to the inch, and the 6,700 on the third trial. On the fourth it lifted a large lever (weighed) registering 5,000 pounds dead weight. Lastly, a 5 horse power engine, with 2 A inch stroke and V iurh fly wheel, was driven at 6S0 revolutions to the minute. |
