Show THE TWEED ICING Its Member at Varlons Times A. Onkrj Hall Oue of Them. New York, G. William M. Tweed whs to-day before the committee of aldermen investigating the ring frauds. He testified that the ring formed in the board of supervisors in I860 for passing excessive bills, consisted con-sisted of Roach, Brig us and himself. In 1863, Henry Smith was added; in 1SG5 John Fox, and in 13GG James HayeB, in 1809 Isaac J. Oliver and Andrew J. Blakeley. The last two did not know all that was going on, but they got their ralce. Iu 1870 the board of supervisors was abolished. The Tweed nog had nothing to do with the supervisors' ring. The former for-mer was under Hoffman's administration adminis-tration as mayor, and was composed of the witness, John T, Hoflman, Comptroller Brennan and Street Commissioner Com-missioner Cornell. They met only lor social and political purpOBes. Seme of these men went out of office, and this ring then became composed of A. Oakey Hall, Comptroller Connolly, Con-nolly, Street Commissioner McLean and himself. Adjourned to Wednesday Wednes-day next. |
