Moore, left For Cauby, at the mouth of the Columbia, to cross to Astoria ia-a small Bail boat. On their return a fresh wind sprung up and the boat failed to reach the fort that night. The next day Captain Miller.com- maudant, ordered the lighthouse ; steamer Shubrick and two tugs to cruise in search, and after a long search the boat was discovered capsized, cap-sized, but no trace of the missing man was found. They were undoubtedly all drowned. |
