Larg tracts of land over Jordan are being pr. il opted with a view to immediate cultivation; and the success which has attended the efforts of the pioneers on the eaBt bench will no doubt attract many others who are satisfied with a mod erate income. The excessive drouth which is always sure to prevail in some seotious of the west will guarantee guar-antee a ready market for all surplus products. Some of the gentlemen who have secured land on the other side of the river are making arrange ments to aink artesian wells, in the hope of obtaining a constant flow ol water for irrigating purposes. One of these wells has already been com me need, aud should it prove success ful many others will be bored immediately, im-mediately, and that vast tract of land extending from Herriman to Great Salt Lake will soon be a rich farm. |
