Show Red-Headed Poetry. And now the Tribune man has 1 taken to writing poetry. Yesterday morning he gave to his already distracted dis-tracted readers an awful dose, fully; two columns of poetry' and criticism together. The joke of the matter is that he tries to palm ofl the former as a production of a correspondent in order to secure tbe right of commenting comment-ing on bis own poetical genius. This is tbe second dose of rhetorical doggerel dog-gerel he has offered to the public lately, the first being, (as a matter of gratitude and at the request of the editor) solicited by the late immaculate. immacu-late. We shall soon expect to see all his editorials in verse, but hope, for tbe sake of his readers, that the verse will be of a aomewhat higher order, as otherwise We would prie the God of huaveo most just For nt raising us from out of the dust. |
