Show City Conncil. Proceedings at tbe city council on Tuesday evening, December 9tb, 1879, Mayor Little presiding: The committee on claims, to whom wae referred the quarterly report of the supervisor of streets, reported that they had examined the vouchers, accounts, ac-counts, etc, and found them correct, and recommended that tbe balance due the supervisor, $3,665.89, be appropriated. ap-propriated. Adopted. The auditor of public accounts submitted sub-mitted bis quarterly report of the financial condition of Salt Lake City corporation, ending November 30ib, 1879, which showed : Balance in treasury at the beginning of quarter (September 1st), $590.75; receipts re-ceipts during quarter, $55,443.07 ; total resources $56,033.82; disburse ments during quarter, $51,188.75; balance on hand December 1st, 1879, $4,845.07. Referred to committee on Finance. Tbe committee on claims to whom I was referred tbe bill of County Clerk D. Bockholt, for certified copies of registry lists, reported and recommended recom-mended that the bili be allowed and the amount, $60.00, appropriated. Adopted. The report of the oity treasurer for the hscal year ending November 30th 1879 was presented. The report set forth that during the fiscal year there bad been received into the treasury from all sources the Bum of $160,' 224.23, and there had been disbursed on warrants issued by tbe auditor $157,372.96. The redeemed auditors warrants for the fiscal year amounting to $157,372.96 as above, the treasurer solicited the council to order to be destroyed. Referred to the committee on finance with instructions in-structions to destroy the warrants, if lounu correct. The superintendent of water works submitted a report of the expenditures expendi-tures in his department for the two quarters ending respectively August 31st, and November 30, 1879. The total amount of water service pipes laid for consumers during the six months were aevonty-five, Total coat of said service, $1,631.63 or an average of $21.74 each. Report received re-ceived and referred to the committee on water works. Adjourned to next Tuesday evening at the usual hour. |
