Show Stealing Blankets. A recently discharged soldier, named Fiuley, waa arrested last evening by the police on "a charge of etealing a pair of California blankets from the residence of Sir. Blomquist, in the Thirteenth Ward. Finley sold the blankets at a second-hand store, but claims that another chap gave them to him to dispose of. PendiDg the search for that other fellow, the trial in the Police Court was adjourned till Monday mornin 2, Finley being lodged m jail in the meantime. Capt. de Courcey and Lieuta. Chance and Jamar, will aUo leave Douglas this morniDg for Sydney, Nebraska, where tho officers' wives and the company's disabled men are to be left. The company will then proceed to the Platte, relieving Capt. Miils of the Third cavalry for threo months or until the campaign against the Indians In-dians is over. Gen. Morrow will not leave Camp Douglas at present, nor until Gen. J K. Smith, ot the Fourteenth Infantry arrives and takes command of this post. Gen. Morrow will then proceed to Sydney, Xeb., which will be the headquarters of the Thirteenth Infantry. In-fantry. Tho troops leaving this morning will march through the streets, the band playing the while, and will take : special tr.iin at 0 o'clock for Ogden. We bid the gallant officers a good-bye full of regret, and heartily wiah them and their men a not unpleasant Summer Sum-mer campaign. |
