A deep gash was cut iu the general's head, and he lost consciousness .for a short time. He was a'si hurt in the back, and considerably jarred; however, he waa able soon after the mishap to walk to his residence. Mrs. Maxwell's arm was badly wrenched, and it was first thought the limb was broken, below theeibow, but the surgeons who were early in attendance, pronounced no fracture of the bous. Tne child miraculously escaped without injury. The mishap may havs the e fleet of confining tho general and Mrs. Maxwell Max-well to the house for a brief period, but there is no danger of serious consequences resulting from the runaway. |
