Show Indictments lteriow of Gcu-erul Gcu-erul Miermuu's Memoirs. Washington, 6. Among the bills returned by the grand jury are eight in connection with the recent robbery rob-bery oi the United States tieasury ot over $17,000, as follows: Against Benj. B. Hatleck, two indictments, one each for larceny and embezzlement; embezzle-ment; Wm. H. Ottman, there indictments, indict-ments, grand larceny, receiving stolen properly and receiving embezzled money; J. W. Brown, three indictments, indict-ments, recciviug, grand larceny, receiving, re-ceiving, conncealing, and attempting to conceal stolen money, and receiving, receiv-ing, concealing and attempting to conceal embezzled money, knowing it to have been stolen and embezzled. The offense is punishable by confinement confine-ment in the penitentiary not more than seven years, or by fine of not more than $7,000, or both. The announcement of a lengthy review of General Sherman'B Mem-moirs, Mem-moirs, made up chiefly from the official records of the wardepartment reached here to-day. It will make a volume as large as one of Sherman's. Free access to the official files fcr tbe purpose of making this compilation was given at the department to the author. It is by General H. V. Boynton, and will be published in a fortnight by Wilstach & Baldwin, of Cincinnati. |
