A cruple of young gentlemen who had matle a failure in running a saloon on a paying basis, wore fined 100 each fordoing business without a license, and in default of paymont were committed to jail. Robert Kennedy, in Btnking at a wine dealer on Saturday night, hit a soldier with a bottle, for which he was lined $10. The same defendant was mulcted in $3 for stealing a vahse with an assortment of clothing. Jsot being in a financial condition to pay the fines, he was given the alternative alterna-tive of laboring thirty-rive days on the streets. |
