Mr. Young, pursuant lo notice, presented a bill for "An Act amending amend-ing an act in relation to Marshals and Attorneys." Referred to tho (Jjm-millee (Jjm-millee on Judiciary. Communications wno received from Surveyor General Nathan Kimball Kim-ball and Mnjor Joseph Gorlinski, thanking the Council for the teuder of the freedom of the Council Lihamber. Mr. Woodruff, chairman of the Committee on Claims and Appropriations, Appropria-tions, to whom Wits referred the petition peti-tion of Wm. C. Mitchell, praying for an appropriation of $75 to reimburse him for losses incurred by the division of Washington and Iron counties, reported re-ported the same back, and recommended recom-mended that the prayer of the petitioner peti-tioner be gran ted. On motion, the report was accepted and the amount ordered lo be included in the general appropriation bill. A communication was received from the House, announcing the passage pas-sage of "An Act amending an Act entitled an Act to provide for a mechanics' me-chanics' and laborers' lien, approved February IS, lSG'J," which was forwarded for the action of the Council, The Act was read, and referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Trade and Manufactures.
