Show More Snow Slides. It was reported re-ported in town yesterday that three more snow slides had occurred in Littls Cottonwood on Sunday.but fortunately without fatal results. One near the Flagstaff mine is said to bavo carried away a man, but ho was afterwards dugoutalivo. Mr, Oolbath reported a very heavy slide just above where the one of last Thursday occurred. In weather such as wo have had for over a week past, these avalanches may bo expected in all tho oanyons where snow falls heavily and the mountain sides arc precipitous; for the soft snow, accumulating ac-cumulating in heavy masses, with a damp condition of the atmosphere, will not remain in place, but will slide off and soek tho canyon gqrge below. This fact should be borne in mind by all who havo business in tbo canyons during such weather. Since the above was in type wo karn of two alidos over the ground of last Thursday's, leaving another deposit of snow eight fcot deep. |
