Show Star District. As this district is now attracting a good deal of attention atten-tion we have collated a few facta with reference to it, for the benefit of our readers. The district proper comprises com-prises North, South, East, and West Star districts, and embraces an area of ten miles. The distance from this city is somewhere in the neighborhood of two hundred miles about sixteen of which can be traveled by rail, to Dra-perville. Dra-perville. The fare by car and stage from this city, is S26. Passengers are now carried clear through to Shenandoah Shenan-doah city, the principal town in the district, which claims a population of one hundred or thereabouts, and the whole district is placed at five hundred. Othermines throughout through-out the district have been considerably developed, amongst which are the Clipper and Lost Chance, and all show well. In the vicinity of Shenandoah there are twenty mines on which work :is progressing. Two quartz mills are in contemplation and will likely be erected during the summer. Upon the whole, according to the information at hand, Star district has evidently a prosperous oareer before iu |
