We note that the office-holders have at last concluded to hold a convention, to elect delegates or something, to go ai figure-heads to Philadelphia and assume to represent a Territory which I has already through its regularly organized or-ganized Republican party elected, delegates dele-gates for the purpose. The signers to the call are ; J. M, Orr, ex-United States marshal and still fibbing for the office ; Dennis J. Toohy, who must go with the ''ring" or lose the government govern-ment advertising; VTm. Haydon, who goes one eye and a half on a prospective prospec-tive judgeship : Oscar G-. Sawyer, tele- j graphist extraordinary and general bo-bemian bo-bemian for the same circular combination combina-tion ; R. 11. Robertson, former law-partner law-partner and amicus curiae to the judge of the first judicial district; Geo. R. Maxwell, U. S. register of the land office ; Geo. A. Black, U. S. secretary of the Territory ; K. P. Johnson, running run-ning in cahoots with Toohy; Wm.Hynd-man, Wm.Hynd-man, a juvenile limb of the law and attache at-tache to Johnson; Ben. The convention is to assemble at Corinne, on the 16th inst, if a place large enough for it can be found. There are to be eighty-nine delegates, of whom Salt Lake and Corinne are to furnish about half, and the balance of tho Territory will pay little atteo-i tion to tho call. Wo may add that nearly half of the signers do not hail from the Territory, but from different parts of tho country, and are carpetbaggers carpet-baggers of the most unadulterated quality. This convention is now adjourned, until wo think the public interest again requires a notice of it. I |
