The Austin ( Minn. ) Register of April ISth contains the particulars of one of the most cold-blooded, brutal butcheries that ever occurred in Minnesota: Min-nesota: A man named Charley McDonough, living in the town of Rock Del!, near the southwest corner of Olmsteaa county, coun-ty, became involved some two or three years ago, and, to defraud his creditors, deeded his estate to his wife. He was liberated from jail, where he has been confined all winter for resisting an officer, offi-cer, early in March, since which time he has been very abusive to his family, and has endeavored by alternately threatening and coaxing to induce his t wife to convey the land back to him, which sho refused to do. Last Friday .he threatened to kill one of his daughters, daugh-ters, and his wife sent for one of the neighbors to take the girl away. Strange as it may seem, Mrs. McDonough is still alive and conscious. con-scious. McDonoujh was duly arrested and lodged in the Rochester jail. |
